Overview
TerraSmart PeakYield is an autonomous IoT analytics and telemetry intelligence platform. It processes thousands of physical sensor events across industrial ground-mount solar arrays, optimizing active tracker motor angles and automating alert workflows.
The Challenge
Solar tracking motor components are highly sensitive to sudden wind stresses and component wear. Building a system to process thousands of continuous coordinates, detect calibration shifts, and alert technicians in real-time required a resilient architecture with minimal ingestion bottlenecks.
The Engineering Solution
Constructed an event-driven telemetry pipeline on AWS using SQS and Lambda functions. Built rich reactive dashboards using React, integrated WebSockets for real-time sensor updates, and implemented PostgreSQL timeseries optimizations for analytical chart queries.
Key System Deliverables
- ✦Microservices driven by Node.js/Express and AWS Lambda serverless endpoints
- ✦Event ingestion streams powered by AWS SQS and SNS queues
- ✦Highly optimized PostgreSQL schema with time-series indexing
- ✦Stripe integration for subscription structures and field technician account management
Measurable Success
- ✓Minimized field equipment failure risks through predictive diagnostics systems
- ✓Delivered smooth, 60fps real-time diagnostic telemetry rendering to dashboard users
- ✓Successfully scaled to ingest millions of panel coordinates per array
